We've just added some extra 'pace. rhythm and timing' to our system installations. Our new company van is equipped for any installation eventuality and even features Naim's founder Julian Vereker's actual personal registration plate. Send us a picture of the van when you see it out and about to win a Naim T shirt.…

I have heard the Naim Statement at two shows now but the opportunity came up to listen to it in a more relaxed environment so naturally I jumped at the chance. The fact that I could play some of my own music was the icing on the audio cake. Statement was sitting between an NDS with twin power supplies and an imposing pair of Focal Grande Utopia III…

If either of the new Rega turntables cost 10x what they do the hi-fi world would be thronging with their praises. As it is the entry level nature of Rega’s best known turntables and the relative affordability of the RP8 and RP10 mean that they have not been taken as seriously as they deserve.
Both are built on a skeletal foam cored chassis that is lighter and stiffer than any turntable has ever been. This is virtually ultimate realisation of Roy Gandy’s theories about turntable design…

Congratulations to Bentley and Naim on their inaugural victory in the Blancpain Endurance Series at Silverstone. I was delighted to be able to share this proud moment as the Bentley team won their first race on home soil for 84 years. The thrill was magnified by the exhaust note of the Continental GT3 which makes a very convincing impression of a Spitfire coming down the home straight. Just like Naim, Bentley obviously believe in providing only the very best in aural delight.…

I suspect that most serious music lovers with a keen interest in HiFi would dream of having their own dedicated listening room; for me at last this is about to become a reality.
Over the next few months I will be regularly updating this blog to keep you all informed of progress and give you some insight into the planning and construction process.
The thought of building my own room has been percolating through my mind for several years since I realised that my current room…

Paul Stephenson presents six times 75 watts at the launch
Naim chose the Vinyl Factory in café cultured Soho to launch their first foray into real-world audio. This ensured a good turnout of mainstream press alongside dealers and even a few forum members, spreading the word as wide as possible is where this product is at. Muso is a Bluetooth, Airplay, USB and Ethernet…

For a couple of years now James and I have been seriously considering making the journey to Bristol to see the Bespoked Handmade bike show, but for various reasons the pilgrimage was never made. When the event came to London this year we were all out of excuses and went up to the velodrome in the Olympic Park near Stratford to test the metal. The Handmade show is a showcase…

Room treatments - a cost effective upgrade? You bet!
Having recently moved house, I was excited by the prospect of a dedicated listening room. My kit shared the lounge previously which was carpeted, had curtains and a number of soft furnishings. The room was about 5m x 6m and had a beamed ceiling with beams running perpendicular to the listening axis. It all sounded pretty good. This was my baseline moving to the new house.
In the new, dedicated listening room, the floor is not…

Yesterday I experienced the best analogue set up I have ever heard - bar none. The new Vertere turntables are just extraordinary and having smashed through the glass ceiling of analogue performance 30 years ago with the Xerxes, Touraj has taken it to a whole new level again with the RG1 & SG1 Touraj's passion for his designs is infectious. Here he demonstrates the…

Well the title of the post isn't very attention grabbing...unlike the Scalas themselves. I ought to write a fuller description than what follows.....but if truth be told, I have found it hard to tear myself away from the sounds these speakers have been making since James and Henry installed them on Friday... even to write this short summary.....!
After…

Touraj's new Tri Point Articulated bearing is yet another milestone in analogue design. What might appear to be a uni pivot is in fact anything but, avoiding the inevitable bearing chatter and preserving as much of the signal information as possible. On demonstration imminently.…
