Meet Junior

Guru is expanding its range to include a compact standmount at a very attractive price point. The Guru Junior has a 115mm main driver and a ring radiator tweeter in a cabinet with a slot port. When Guru showed me the Junior at Milan's Top Audio show they were still in pre-production form and the choice of front baffle and veneer finish had yet to be finalised.

Erik Ring of Guru showed another sample of the white gloss version with an off white baffle which for my money worked rather better than the brushed aluminium on the white unit on display. Guru plans to have the Junior in UK retailers by mid to late November and I'm looking forward to hearing how the change of cabinet effects the overall result. If they sound even half as good as the QM10 at this price we could have serious new contender in the affordable speaker stakes.
