Spotted this by the design critic Stephen Bayley in the press recently which seems rather fitting:-
Good Design Transcends the Throwaway Age
"The argument for good design is that it lasts for ever so needs no repairs. Artistically, it transcends fickle taste. Functionally, it endures. Economically, it keeps people employed. Socially, it creates respectful hierarchies and responsible supply chains. Or put it this way: no one has ever thrown away an Aston Martin, a Brompton bike or a Purdey 12 bore."
An interesting reference to one of Julian Vereker's other ventures and I'm sure few would argue that any Naim product also belongs firmly on this list.
