Event Horizon

According to Einstein's theory of general relativity, an event horizon is a boundary in space-time beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer.

In layman's terms, it is defined as "the point of no return" i.e. the point at which the gravitational pull becomes so great as to make escape impossible

Listening to the NAC 552 for the first time is indeed a very personal 'point of no return' and it's gravitational pull is certainly irresistible.

I passed the event horizon about 2 weeks ago when I heard the 552 in an almost identical system to my own at Pete's place. It really is rather special and once experienced difficult to forget.

I won't try to use the usual collection of hi-fi buzzwords to describe it, but it does get you closer to the music... Isn't that what it's all about?

Even sitting here now enjoying my NDS 252 300 S600s I can feel the inexorable gravitational field of the 552 drawing me in.

I'm sure one will be gracing my listening room in the coming few months...
