In the dark past of the 80's and we all remember them, whether we wish to or not... I had the typical Naim/Linn system. LP12/Ittok/Koetsu Black, Naim 42.5/HiCap/250/Passive Isobariks.
Great syatem spent many lonely nights listening to it ...as I was buying music that I knew would sound good and impressive and got lost in form over function somewhere.
Remained a Naim fan and still am today but had no cash available, made HiFi and music difficult when you have other costs like horses and a farm to run.
Met my second wife who is a music nut like me and slowly but surely Naim/Linn crept back into our life. This time gear was bought in the knowledge that it would help us put the live performances we go to back into our living room.. and it did.
Current system is CD3, NAC 102/NAPSC (from James) Hicap NAP200 and a pair on one owner from new Linn Isobariks (croosovers in stands) Are we happy yes, but the bariks took a lot of selling to the other half, had them six weeks and the NAC102.NAPSC has really made them sing. Now I know why I own them all and they all play a magical part in our music/wine evenings in the winter.
Lots of scope for active operation!!!!!
