Agnes Obel has received a fair bit of listening attention over the last week - and again as I write this... A really great album IMO. I have bought the Choir album as well - good, but needs to grow on me some more I think.

So much music, so little time...

The Gotye track (somebody that I used to kmow) you played last time I was at yours sounded amazing Dave, did you say this guy is going to be releasing hi res version of all his output from now on?

This has to be the most unlikely number 1 single of recent years in that it's actually a truly great song.

Cheers

Apparantly so James. I saw a post on the Naim Forum by Briz Vegas:

"If you like alternative pop you can also get Gotye's Making Mirrors off his site in 24 44.1.  He told me in an email response that any future projects will be 24 96 now that he sees there is a market."

So, at last the artists themselves are beginning to recognise there's a market for Hi Res, let's hope the record labels also make the move.

Sam's away this weekend so I've taken the opportunity to rebuild the racks, redress and massage all the burndys, and generally tidy things up round the back. The 555PS DR is nicely settled in now, and the whole system is really performing well.

I'll see if I can manage to post a pic in the Naim Story thread.

I just received my copies of Tord Gustavsen and Agnes Obel (Agnes is playing as I type this).  I think Tord Gustavsen is fabulous for some late night listening as is Agnes. Thanks James.

I would also recommend Charlie Haden Quartet West Sophisticated Ladies.  Some beautiful vocals and the band is so good.

Thanks for the recommendation Peter and I'm glad you're liking the Agnes and Tord

Cheers

Here's a treat for you. Mick Bax introduced us to it after we'd fraimed his system yesterday and the way it sounded when we'd finished was utterly spellbinding.  We all agreed that it would take braver men than us to listen to this on our own after dark...

as Mick said - Kraftwerk with real instruments!
