Saw Newton Faulkner in Croyde last weekend at Oceanfest. He is a one man orchestra. Check out "people should smile more." The stripped production sounds particularly sweet on my Kudos C10s.

Agnes Obel - Philharmonics dropped through my letter box this morning - had a quick listen while reading through some paperwork... Really excellent! Thanks for the recommendation James.

ah I can see this becoming a very dangerous thread to visit!

It's a stunning album Dave. I seem to have a heavy Scandinavian vibe going on at the moment.

The Choir of Young Believers - This is for the White in your Eyes - another Danish treat.

Don't worry Chris, we've thought of everything. Look out for the forthcoming Tom Tom Record Shop with special rates for club members. More info to follow.

Cheers

A couple of CDs by The Choir.... Ordered, plus another by Shady Bard that Amazon offered up. Will let you all know how I get on.

Agnes continues to grow on me - I've always like the Scandinavian Vibe!

Good call re Newton Faulkner Mike, I'd never really ventured beyond his version of 'Teardrop' to be honest but there's lot of good stuff going on here.

I'm with you on the Agnes Obel (which Keith Tonge brought over) and the Tord Gustavsen, both are fine recordings of cool music. If you haven't done so already get hold of Tord's earlier trio albums they are sweet

Rega's world keeps turning

Great things are afoot in Southend. Rega, for it is their patch, are growing in scale and technological advancement as I found when I visited recently. With the workforce up to 140 and a new healthy food canteen to keep them fuelled the company is doing remarkably well. When I last visited five years back the new mezzanine floor was only a quarter filled, now it’s full…See More
